Chuck Mazoch Wins IWDC's Top Award

Indianapolis, IN – Wednesday, November 20, 2024 – In recognition of his contributions to IWDC, the Industrial Gas & Welding Industry, and the surrounding greater Beaumont, Texas community, Chuck Mazoch, Coastal Welding Supply, was presented the Bob Jackson Memorial Award at IWDC's November 12 - 14 Owners' Meeting in Rancho Mirage, California.

Chuck Mazoch of Coastal Welding Supply accepts the Bob Jackson Award from Frank Kasnick, IWDC President & CEOBob Jackson played an integral part in the formation of the Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative (IWDC). The honor is bestowed annually upon a Member who has "gone above and beyond" in their support of the organization. The Bob Jackson Award is considered the preeminent award of the IWDC. Criteria for the award include a strong volunteer spirit, support of independents, being viewed internally and externally as a respected leader, engagement in our industry and community, and family-centric.

Coastal Welding Supply was founded in 1963 by Al Mazoch, Chuck's father. Chuck became president in 2009 when Coastal Welding Supply operated two locations. During his leadership, Coastal expanded to twelve locations serving the petrochemical, metal fabrication, and analytical services customers along the Gulf Coast in Texas and Louisiana. Chuck led their expansion into specialty gases, and today, Coastal is one of the premier specialty gas providers in the nation.

Coastal Welding Supply's operation has received awards from AWS, CGA, and GAWDA, as well as numerous leading industry suppliers, in recognition of Coastal's growth and support. In addition to building a strong business and contributing to IWDC's PurityPlus® Specialty Gas Program as Chair of its Steering Committee, Chuck has generously given back to his surrounding community, contributing to numerous Southeast Texas Charities.

The IWDC is a cooperative formed in 1994 that leverages the strengths of its independent welding distributor members across North America.
