IWDC Members have many advantages over non-members, but one advantage is especially worth pointing out: the IWDC provides an excellent framework in which Members can share best practices. That’s been true for decades, too – because the IWDC has always been dedicated to helping its Members improve their business acumen.
In essence, best-practice sharing involves Members openly discussing current issues and business trends, exchanging sales, marketing, and administrative techniques, talking about what works and what doesn’t, and reveling in each other’s successes.
There are three primary IWDC venues for best-practice sharing: our annual
Owners' Meeting, our
Sales and Purchasing Convention, and our annual
Gas Meeting hosted by PurityPlus. In addition, Members can choose to participate in our Annual Industry Financial Benchmarking Report, conducted by
Benchmarking Analytics. This entails the following: financial numbers
are collected from each participating Member company in a confidential manner.
We then place these numbers in the context of a wide range of financial and
operating metrics and prepare an exclusive report for each Member. When Members
review this report, they can see how their company stacks up against the
metrics and focus on improving critical parts of their business, as necessary.
