I.W.D.C.’s PurityPlus^® Specialty Gas Program Exhibits at Pittcon – Philadelphia Declaration of Independents!

Indianapolis, IN – March 29, 2013 – The Pittsburgh Conference (Pittcon), North America’s largest tradeshow dedicated to science and technology, was held in Philadelphia, PA from March 17 – 22. “Given the host city, it was an appropriate venue for reaffirming our cooperative’s unique, branded program supporting the independent’s thriving specialty gas business”, said Frank Kasnick, President & C.E.O., I.W.D.C.

I.W.D.C.’s expanded booth footprint and location, updated graphics and marketing messages were a huge draw. “Going in, attendance was expected to set records. We were advised that pre-conference registrations exceeded 25,000, and judging by the traffic our booth generated, the actual attendance was much higher”, commented Rich Mansmann, I.W.D.C. - Vice President, Gas Programs.

Mansmann also added “the comments we received carried a consistent message… that gas users require a supplier with excellent customer service demonstrating both trusted and prompt answers to their questions about gases and gas handling, and timely delivery of quality products. These needs fit our membership’s core competencies to a tee”.

The PurityPlus program includes 30 specialty gas producers along with a loyal network of approved suppliers; I.W.D.C. has both the largest geographic spread of production facilities, and the greatest number of ISO 17025 audited specialty gas labs in North America.

Visitors also commented on helium availability, an important carrier gas to chromatographers, and learned about PurityPlus program’s position in grades 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 and 7.0 helium. Discussion about helium alternatives, in particular, using equivalent purities of hydrogen in many GC applications provided the perfect opportunity to introduce I.W.D.C.’s distribution relationship with Proton OnSite’s line of high purity laboratory gas generators, which were on display.
