Holston
Gases Inc. has acquired the propane division of Powell-Clinch Utility District
and will begin servicing its customers October 1. Holston Gases has purchased
all of the propane assets of Powell-Clinch, including all tanks, trucks and
storage facilities.
Holston
Gases chairman, Bill Baxter, said “We are very pleased to add the Powell-Clinch
propane customers to our existing customer base in the East Tennessee area. We
will service these new customers from multiple Holston Gases locations in the
immediate area. And we will bring to bear all resources of our regional company
to take good care of them.”

Gases is a regional distributor of industrial, medical and propane gases as
well as welding, safety and industrial supplies. Holston has been in business
for over 60 years. Headquartered in Knoxville, it has 28 locations in
Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
