Mark Haun Wins IWDC's Top Award

Mark Haun receives the 'Bob Jackson Award' from Frank Kasnick at 2023 IWDC Owners' Meeting.

In recognition of his contributions to IWDC, the industrial gas and welding industry, and the surrounding greater Syracuse, New York community, Mark Haun, Haun Welding Supply Inc. was presented the Bob Jackson Memorial Award at IWDC's November 7 - 10 Owners' Meeting in Cape Neddick, Maine.

Bob Jackson played an integral part in forming the Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative (IWDC). The honor is bestowed annually upon a Member who has "gone above and beyond" in supporting the organization. The Bob Jackson is considered the preeminent award of the IWDC. Criteria for the award include strong volunteer spirit, support of independents, being viewed internally and externally as a respected leader, engagement in our industry and community, and being family-centric.

Haun Welding Supply was founded in 1958 and is a fourth-generation family business. Mark became president in 1990 when Haun Welding Supply operated three locations. During his three decades of leadership, he cemented a customer-first philosophy that has produced tremendous growth for his company and employees as they have expanded to twenty-three locations across five northeast states.

In addition to building a strong business, contributing to IWDC's strategic planning process, and serving on IWDC's board and committees, Mark has generously given back to his surrounding community serving as scoutmaster, volunteering for Young Life, and serving as a church elder.
